Hi again, sorry for neglecting to write on this last night. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and it's very painful. :( Other than that my days have been fun. Yesterday during our afternoon lecture we got to see one of five copies of the Gettysburg address written by Abraham Lincoln himself. This is the most valuable artifact that Cornell has in their
possession and it was an amazing thing to see.
Today's class was interesting and explored labor unions. After class I spent the rest of my day reading. We had over fifty pages to read. Tonight after night check we played Mafia with a large group of kids and RAs alike.
More to follow.

Jared,
It sounds like you are learning a lot about American History. Please keep us posted because this is the first time that we have had someone at Second Session. Your posts will be invaluable in terms of us learning about what Cornell has to offer in courses.
From reading your blog it also seems that you are fitting back in nicely to the school community. It definitely appears that Cornell is a "fit" for you. This is the time to remain focused and demonstrate your ability to handle College level work at an Ivy League Institution.
One thing that could be helpful is letting us know the difference between first and second session. We want to have a better idea of the differences and similiarities between the two sessions.
Life here on the West Coast is uneventful. Not much going on at the school district since summer school is almost over. Also many people are on vacation. Right now the hottest thing going is obviously the Ivy League Connection where we have students still at four Ivy League campuses. Our students at Columbia return on Saturday. They have had a great trip.
Keep on blogging. We really enjoy the comments and I am glad that you are learning more about the Trade Unions. When you return I can have you sit down with people from the Trades so they can give you more information on their crafts.
Take care.
